Ever Thought About Volunteering?

Volunteering

Our service is operated by volunteers who are the life and heartbeat of the service. Volunteers can serve in a variety of ways, depending on their skills experience and availability. All our volunteers are expected to be in sympathy with the ethos of our organisation and must be able to be completely confidential .  We especially welcome applications from those who have benefited from our counselling service.

All posts are subject to Disclosure and some may be subject to genuine occupational requirements.

Our receptionists will often be the initial contact for those who use our service. They will answer telephone enquiries and when someone calls for an appointment will offer a welcoming cuppa. Duties would also include recording appointments in the diary.  Receptionist will usually offer a two to three hours  per week days and times can be arranged to suit your lifestyle. Receptionists are valued members of our team and come from all sorts of backgrounds.  You don’t need any previous reception experience as full training is given - what we are looking for is people who are reliable , friendly and confidential.

We are keen to receive applications from those who have experience in managing and decision making. Perhaps you have experience through employment or by serving in another voluntary capacity within a church or other agency. If you have skills to offer and  would like to play a crucial part in the for the running of the talk matters service and can make a commitment to attend regular monthly meetings

We shall consider applications from those who hold a recognised Diploma in Counselling, subject to our occupational requirements.

Applications for practice placements are considered from those who are studying for a Diploma in Counselling and who have been considered ready  for practice by their training provider. Practice placements are subject to genuine occupational requirements.
